From stone pelting to tear gases: Violence erupts in UP’s Sambhal over mosque survey

Violence broke out in UP’s Sambhal after locals started stone pelting at the survey team on November 24. Amid rising tensions, police forces were deployed and they were seen requesting locals to stop stone-pelting. The survey team had reached Shahi Jama Masjid to survey the mosque following an order by the civil judge’s court. Security was tightened outside Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal after a survey was carried out on November 19.
