MV the Azur was built in 1971 as the cruise/car ferry Eagle. In 1975 she was renamed Azur for Paquet Cruises and eventually rebuilt into a full-time cruise ship. In 1987 Chandris Line/Chandris Fantasy Cruises (the precursor to Celebrity Cruises) purchased the ship and she sailed with them up until 1994. After, she sailed for Festival cruises as the Azur from 1994-2004. From 2005-2014 she was renamed the Royal Iris and then renamed Roy Star from 2014-2017 for Mano Maritime. From 2017 to present she sails as the Knyaz Vladimir for Black Sea Cruises. She is the last remaining Chandris vessel in operation today and considered to be one of the oldest cruise ships in the world still in operation.
