Gucci under Tom Ford and Frida Giannini was very much about the jet-set lifestyle. It was focused on affluence, wealth, sexiness and sophistication. Aesthetically it was beautiful yet being minimal. The focus was a lot more on the shapes and silhouettes. People are creatures of habit so of course when Alessandro Michele transformed Gucci into his androgynous, quirky, maximalist and romantic vision he met a huge amount of resistance from loyal Gucci fans of the Tom Ford vision. In this video I explain the turning points (Gucci Fall Winter 2015 Menswear & Gucci Autumn Winter 2015 Ready To Wear / Womenswear) that cemented a transformation of Gucci by Alessandro.
