Never before has the final day of the Club La Santa 4 Stage MTB Lanzarote been reached with the overall classification so open. Barely two seconds separated Nadir Colledani from Bartlomiej Wawak. Ahead, the most demanding day of the race. More than 80 kilometers with more than 1,700 meters of unevenness and the additional hardness that has meant the intense wind that the participants have had to face.
 
The tactics, the placement and the knowledge to save energy have been key elements to be able to dispute the stage and the general one. A group of 11 runners, with all the aspirants to victory, has stood out since the first half of the race. The persecuting group has not been able to link with the head of the race at any time. With this situation, we have reached the longest and most demanding ascent of the race. The climb of the Dam of Mala that this year had an important novelty. The organization has created a special stretch timed in this ascent, with prizes for the best times.
 
The surveillance has remained in the front group that has crowned, almost compact, the hardest port of the Club La Santa 4 Stage MTB Lanzarote. From here, a rapid descent and many kilometers of undulating terrain, with wind and stretches of sand until the end of the race. It has been the moment in which Wout Alleman has attacked in solitary in search of the triumph of stage. He has achieved an advantage that could seem good to achieve it, especially considering that he was not disturbed in the fight for victory in the general. However, the very push of the best and the hardness of rolling alone in this field has put an end to his escape. With all the aspirants to the final victory together the last kilometers have been decisive.
 
The narrow and stony paths of the final stretch of the stage have witnessed the battle for the stage and the general. The Polish Bartlomiej Wawak has attacked as he had done in all previous stages. Nadir Colledani, bearer of the leader's jersey, has tried to follow his wake in a heads up in which the race was played. But the Italian has not been able to stand up to the devastating end of Wawak that has taken his 3rd stage win and has opened a small but big enough hole to take also the general of the Club La Santa 4 Stage MTB Lanzarote. A deserved victory since, despite the small differences, the Polish has always been superior in the stages. Colledani achieved a meritorious 2nd place in the stage and in the general while the final podium would be completed by the German Ben Zwiehoff, a regular of this race that has performed at an exceptional level, especially if we take into account the wounds he dragged after his fall in the 2nd stage.
 
In the female category Blaza Pinteric has achieved the full. Win the 4 stages he has played. His triumph in the general has been unappealable. The emotion has focused on the other podium places. Kerry Macphee has attacked to find second place in the general that she has finally achieved thanks to her excellent performance on this day. With this she has traced from the 4th to the 2nd final position, beating Fabienne Schaus and Malene Degn.
 
In this way, another successful edition of the Club La Santa 4 Stage MTB Lanzarote has been closed, the first year that the test passes to the UCI S1 category. The race continues faithful to the format that has made it grow year after year and now consolidates in the international calendar. The guarantee of a great event, spectacular routes and the peculiar way of competing on an island like Lanzarote have made the Club La Santa 4 Stage MTB Lanzarote an unmissable event at the beginning of the season.
