Deputy Commissioner and SSP Conduct Bike Flag March Across Dhanbad Ahead of Durga Puja

To ensure peaceful and safe celebrations during Durga Puja, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Aditya Ranjan and Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar conducted a bike flag march across the district on Saturday evening. The march covered several key areas and prominent Durga Puja pandals to review security and civic arrangements.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said the purpose of the flag march was to send a strong message of peace, law and order, and security to the citizens, while also warning anti-social elements. He further added that essential facilities like water, electricity, and roads have been repaired ahead of the festival. He also visited some Puja committees whose pandals were damaged due to heavy rains and assured them of full support.

SSP Prabhat Kumar emphasized that more than 8,000 police personnel have been deployed across the district, with police officers and magistrates stationed at over 500 Puja pandals. Plainclothes male and female officers will also be deployed to keep a check on miscreants.

The SSP urged citizens to avoid unnecessary use of vehicles, park only at designated places, and ensure that children carry slips containing their parents’ names, mobile numbers, and addresses in their pockets for safety.

The flag march began from Police Line and passed through key areas including Steel Gate, Gol Building, Jharkhand Maidan, Barmasia, Maniadih , Joraphatak, Dhanbad, Bank More, Matkuria, Kendua, Jogta, Lodna, Sijua, Katras, Baghmara, Binod Bihari Chowk, Pandarpala, Bhuli, Wasseypur, Naya Bazar, Puja Talkies, and Court More. Throughout the march, officials continuously monitored the arrangements.

Administrative and police officials also reviewed crowd management and traffic systems to ensure smooth movement of devotees. Puja committees across the district welcomed the initiative and assured full cooperation for peaceful festivities.

The march was attended by Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan, SSP Prabhat Kumar, City SP Ritvik Srivastava, ADM (Law & Order) Hema Prasad, SDM Rajesh Kumar, DSP Headquarters Dhirendra Narayan Banka, DSP CCR Sumit Kumar, DSP Law & Order Naushad Alam, DSP Traffic Arvind Singh, DSP Cyber Sanjeev Kumar, along with various police station in-charges and officers.
