A boost converter operates in two main states:
1. Switch ON (Energy Stored in the Inductor):
When the switch is closed (ON), the input voltage is applied to the inductor.
The inductor generates a magnetic field, storing energy.
During this phase, the diode blocks current flow to the load, and the load is powered by the capacitor.
2. Switch OFF (Energy Transferred to the Load):
When the switch is open (OFF), the magnetic field in the inductor collapses.
The energy stored in the inductor is released as current, which adds to the input voltage, producing a higher total voltage.
This higher voltage is directed through the diode to the load and the capacitor.
