Before heading deep into the backcountry of the Eastern Sierra, there’s one rule every hiker, backpacker and angler should follow — acclimate. Up here, the air thins fast, but that doesn’t mean the adventure slows down. In this episode of Tale Waters, I spend a full day acclimating at 9,000 feet before tomorrow's 10,500-foot backcountry trek by fishing for wild trout in cold, clear Eastern Sierra creeks. Follow along as I chase wild brown and rainbow trout and take in the golden fall foliage.
🎣 Rig
➡️ Okuma Celilo 8ft Ultra-light rod, 4lb fluoro line (sinks and is invisible to the trout)
➡️ Okuma Ceymar HD 30 Series Spinning Reel
🪱 Artificial Lures: Panther Martin, Powerbait Atomic Mini-Jigs
🎣 Tight lines and thanks for watching!
