Visiting the NHL's NEWEST market to watch the Utah Hockey Club

👉 The Delta Center in Salt Lake City has served as the home of the NBA's Utah Jazz for more than 30 years. But it gained a new tenant in 2024, when the former Arizona Coyotes relocated and began play as the Utah Hockey Club.

I was excited to see a game during the Utah Hockey Club's inaugural season. What I was most interested in was seeing how Delta Center, an arena designed specifically for basketball, could handle hockey considering how much longer an ice rink is than a basketball court. I found there are certainly some challenges, but the fans on hand didn't mind — they were super excited to have a new team in town to root for, and I don't blame them one bit.

It'll be interesting to see whether a new arena is built for the two clubs, or if Delta Center undergoes an extensive renovation to better accommodate hockey. Whatever they decide, I'll be sure to come back once these changes are made!
