Our approach to distributed electric propulsion is based around a 12-rotor design which provides the necessary redundancy for an extremely safe and efficient ride. Unlike helicopters that rely on a single motor powering their flight, we have six independent battery packs powering 12 electric motors that are distributed laterally across the aircraft. This allows us to tolerate an entire battery pack system failure or two motor failures during flight and still fly the mission safely without needing to land. This level of redundancy far exceeds the capabilities of standard aircrafts that are used for travel today.
