The One Text Which Ends the Watchtower’s 1914 Doctrine: 1 Corinthians

The Watchtower Society and its members (“Jehovah’s Witnesses”) believe the New Testament teaching that Jesus was raised to life in heaven at God’s right hand (Acts 2:32-36; Philippians 2:9-11; 1 Peter 3:22).

However, what is different about the Watchtower’s teaching and the New Testament is the Watchtower / Jehovah’s Witnesses believe Jesus waited at God’s right hand for God to ‘place Jesus’ enemies beneath his feet.’ After God did this, culminating in Satan and “his angels” being thrown out of heaven, Watchtower / Jehovah’s Witnesses believe Jesus began ruling as King of God’s kingdom in 1914.
