Maria Gigante of the Philippines made history by winning the Universal Woman 2024 title in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on March 22, 2024, besting 45 other candidates and becoming the first Filipina to earn the crown. A model, host, and entrepreneur with a philosophy degree, Gigante also won the Social Media Award and emphasized respect and collaboration in her winning answer. As Universal Woman 2024, she now has a platform to advance her social project supporting women and children who have been physically and mentally abused through a non-profit organization and plans to integrate her title responsibilities with her hosting career.
