The band’s original manager and Twin/Tone co-founder Peter Jesperson, who co-produced the 1984 album, as well as this Deluxe Edition talks about the song: "The alternate vocal we discovered on the multitrack tape of 'Androgynous' is one of the most exciting things in this expanded Let It Be. While it's clearly not a 'master' vocal, the emotion Paul puts into it gives me goosebumps every time." The new version also restores the opening piano notes that were accidentally cut off the original album track in 1984.

This new deluxe edition of the iconic 1984 album features a new remaster, previously unreleased studio outtakes, intimate Paul Westerberg home demos, and a complete, previously unreleased concert recorded in March 1984 at Cubby Bear in Chicago, IL.
