Discovering Paradise in Ella - Sri Lanka's Mountain Wonderland!

For one month we’re driving our very own tuk-tuk across Sri Lanka. In this video we’re discovering paradise in Ella, Sri Lanka's mountain wonderland, one of the most iconic destinations in the country. We'll be sharing the must-visit spots that make this charming mountain town so special.

🍃 Uva Halpewatte Tea Factory Tour
We kick things off by visiting Uva Halpewatte Tea Factory, one of the largest and highest tea factories in Sri Lanka. Here, we learn about the full tea-making process, from leaf to cup, and even head out into the fields to try our hand at picking tea leaves ourselves. Spoiler alert: it's much harder than it looks! The experience gave us a whole new appreciation for the skill and labor behind Ceylon tea.

🚂 Nine Arch Bridge & Cafe Soul
One of the highlights of any trip to Ella is the famous Nine Arch Bridge. Watching the train cross this bridge, surrounded by lush jungle, feels like something out of a movie. To enjoy a unique perspective, we also visited Cafe Soul, perched high above the bridge, where you can sip on a drink while watching the train pass by below—an unforgettable experience.

🥾 Little Adam’s Peak Hike
Our time in Ella ends with a hike to Little Adam’s Peak, a relatively easy trek with an epic payoff. From the summit, you’re treated to panoramic views of the surrounding hills, tea plantations, and valleys—some of the most beautiful landscapes we saw in Sri Lanka. If the weather cooperates, this spot is pure magic.
