Olympic National Park!
Up in the Edge, looking out into the endless ocean, a sea foam green and a constant breeze. Beaches of Rocks and Salt withered wood sit at the base below pouring waterfalls. Mountains that tower above, decorated in luscious Rainforests that suck up all the moisture in the air. At Olympic National Park you have it all.
We ventured up Storm King a fairly hefty hike to the peak to overlook Crescent Lake, water that has no Nitrogen keeping foggy contaminants from smothering the water. It is a constant Crystal Clear Blue that you can see straight to the bottom of. We stood at the top inside the thick clouds that drifted by.
Cape Flattery is The most North Western part of North America with a magnificent lighthouse and some spectacular ocean views. Hard to believe that water can truly be that color. Caves form from the pounding waves that will someday diminish the land that we stood on.
Then Shi Shi Beach, a Distant hike through some deep muds and vegitation not for the easy day hiker. Reaching the beach, it is another 3 miles to the arches. There you will find a variety of playful sea creatures and Life that breathes with every splash of water. The "haystacks" stand strong from once was rocky cliffs creating a magnificant island of art.
Then the beach that lines Olympic consists of some not so normal Beach sights, Including the "Tree of Life", a tree that seems to be levitating from hundreds of years of erosion and that will definitely find its resting place in the ocean undoubtedly soon. But for now it is a magical sight that hopefully will stick around for years to come.
