A Capella Explorations

The long wait is over, I am back with original music, for anybody who cares. In the past I have always done music with virtual instruments inside either FL studio or one time Musescore, but as somebody who still doesn't really play the keyboard it's always so tedious to deal with the sequencing, usually involving a lot of step input, and causing me to ultimately simplify everything and do less than I planned. So, since I sing and whistle, I decided it was finally time to utilize that in something other than a concept and share my voice with the world, so in a way, this feels very personal because it's actually me on the track, not a sample of someone else.

I deliberated for a while whether or not I wanted to post this because the production is anything but crisp and clean, but I thought it had something none of my other music has had in the past, and that made it worth it, it may sound a bit weird harmonically to some ears at parts but this is the kind of experimentation I've wanted to do for quite some time but struggle to because of the limitation of virtual instruments. I'd be lying if I said the micro-tonality and dissonance weren't heavily inspired by Adiemus, I've been listening to those albums again lately and they just open up your mind to what weirdness you can do harmonically, especially with the voice, they make you feel kind of uncomfortable at times, which creates an even more powerful resolution, I wanted to create something like that.

I painted the background as usual, I don't really know what happened with it, it was supposed to have the sun but the rest of it was going to be very different from this, but I'm trying not to be too judgmental of the things I make so that I can focus on actually putting something out and not creating undue mental blocks. so enjoy... whatever it is. From now on I'll probably just paint what I feel like for the backgrounds instead of trying to make something hyper specific to a scenario, unless I feel particularly inspired.
