After an employee is declared redundant, they are legally entitled to receive terminal dues, including severance pay (typically 15 days' pay per year of service), payment for untaken leave, and a month's notice or pay in lieu of notice. The employer must also notify the relevant Labour Officer and, if applicable, the employee's trade union, and provide a Certificate of Service. The employee can challenge the redundancy if the process wasn't followed correctly, which may lead to legal action for unfair termination.
