PBFD Cockatiel 111010#1 features a cockatiel with signs of PBFD Psittacine Beak Feather Disease and a broken bleeding nail. PBFD was named and described by Dr Ross Perry in the 1970's. PBFD is associated with a psittacine circovirus infection that induces an auto-immune-like disease affecting many aspects of the body of susceptible birds.
