In connection with the arrest of Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) leader Mahrang Baloch, her sister Nadia Baloch, lawyer Imran Advocate, and other leaders held an emergency press conference at the Quetta Press Club.
Nadia Baloch stated that on March 22, Mahrang Baloch and other activists were taken into custody and arrested under the Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) law. However, legal procedures were not followed. She said their demand was for the Deputy Commissioner's detention order to be declared illegal and dismissed, but the court instead forwarded the petition to the Home Department, effectively disposing of the case.
Nadia Baloch said that the path to the Supreme Court has also been closed off, and justice is being deliberately denied. She added that the government is taking unlawful actions, and the Baloch Yekjehti Committee will soon announce its future course of action regarding this matter.
