Researchers discovered two anonymous and undated works in the Royal Library of Belgium in 1992, but it wasn’t until recently that they were able to authenticate Bach as their author. Previously attributed to another composer, the Chaconne in D received its first public performance in 320 years in November 2025 at Bach's own church and burial place, St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, Germany.
