Massive Canal Breach on the Llangollen Canal. My Experience as it Happened.

In the early hours of this morning I was woken by Narrowboat Rincewind violently listing to one side. Ropes creaking, the sound of rushing water and cupboards flung open and belongings were thrown across the cabin as the water level dropped rapidly beneath us.
Within minutes it became clear that a major breach had occurred on the Llangollen Canal near Whitchurch. The canal bank collapsed, forming a huge sinkhole, and boats were dragged down as the water rushed out.
Everyone made it out safely, but several narrowboats were lost and homes were destroyed in a matter of moments. This video shows what happened from my perspective and the immediate aftermath of the breach.
I am incredibly grateful that no lives were lost and there were no injuries want to thank the emergency services and everyone who has offered help and support.
