Devldi – a small village in Rajasthan that looks like a town with luxury cars, big bungalows, and sprawling farmhouses. But behind this glitter lies a dark empire of opium and synthetic drugs that has shaken the state and the nation.

On 20 December 2023, Rajasthan Police entered Devldi for the first time and faced gunfire from fearless drug traffickers. What started as a raid soon turned into a war against a powerful syndicate. From ₹40 crore MDMA factories to ₹1,814 crore drug busts linked to kingpin Shoaib Lala, and the shocking arrest of Jammu Lala with machines like curd churners and room heaters used to produce synthetic drugs – the story only gets darker.

To break the mafia’s backbone, police froze properties worth over ₹500 crore, turning luxury hotels and mansions into government-sealed assets. But with farmers selling opium to traffickers due to low government prices, the cycle continues.

This is the untold story of how “Black Gold” (opium) has turned into “White Poison”, pushing Rajasthan into the heart of India’s drug war.
