Solo Wild Camping | Stormy Night in My New Helm Compact 2 (Heavy Wind & Rain)

In this solo wild camping adventure, I take on the rugged Peak District with my brand new Helm Compact 2 tent by Terra Nova, facing unpredictable weather, strong winds, and heavy rain. What was meant to be a calm overnight trip quickly turned into one of the most intense wild camps I’ve done so far.

This was my first time pitching a tent in heavy wind, and I’ll be honest—I had no idea what I was doing. I made mistakes, forgot a few steps, and nearly lost the tent more than once… but I learned a lot. And in the end, it became one of those trips that challenges you quietly but leaves you feeling stronger and more capable.

I revisit a familiar hiking route in the Peak District National Park, climbing to a scenic summit spot for the night. The views at the top are always stunning, even without a dramatic sunrise. The soft fog, peaceful air, and wild silence made the early morning unforgettable.

Throughout this vlog, I share a real-time journal of the experience—from hiking and pitching the Helm Compact 2 in rough conditions, to honest reflections about solo camping, gear lessons, and reconnecting with nature.
