In this episode, we will discuss about IEC 61131-3 Programming in TwinCAT3.

IEC 61131-3 is an international standard for programming languages of Programmable Logic Controllers. It is the 3rd part of the IEC 61131 standard for PLCs, prepared and published by the International Electrotechnical Commission, if some of you are not yet familiar, they’re the Organization for International Standards about Electrical, electronics and other related technologies. The IEC 61131-3 aims to give programmers flexibility when it comes to using the hardware of different vendors. So if you know how to program those languages it will be easier to handle different vendors because they all look like the same, and they can all implement the IEC- 61131-3 standard.
