Opening March 18th 1967 along with the Blue Bayou Restaurant, Pirates of the Caribbean would be crowned the most visited & beloved attraction in the world.
After 57 years, we have grown to love & become the pirates we love today. In their time though, pirates were rebelling against the Spanish crown. They ravaged lands & killed innocents to just have a sip of rum. Today, anyone can be a pirate just by rebelling against their own parents.
I love this attraction for so many reasons from family ties, to Disney history, to forever being attached to boat 31; she will never cease to amaze me.
