I’m Linda from Sewing Bee Fabrics, and in this sewing machine foot tutorial, I’m sharing all the ways I love to use this handy little overcast foot—no serger (aka overlocker) needed! Also called an over-edge or an overlock foot, I'll show you how I like to use it to sew right over the edge of fabric to stop the fabric edges from fraying. I'll show you how to use this presser foot to secure quilted fabric layers for easy binding. Want to whip up narrow hems and floaty lettuce hems? I'll show you how you can use the overcast foot for them too Plus, I’ll even show you how to make cute pintucks and use it as a topstitch guide for bag handles as well. We'll talk about the best sewing machine settings to use and I even take a look at what happens when I stitch over the edge of fabric in slow motion.
