Some monuments tell their own stories. Munni Bai ki Kothi is a beautiful monument situated on the banks of the Narmada River in Mandla. Mandla, Madhya Pradesh, is rich in legendary tales. It was built by Munni Bai, the wife of a famous zamindar of 84 villages. It has a temple of Radha Krishna at the center of the entire complex, which was built 200 years ago.
Seeing the beautiful temple, one gets reminded of the divinity it radiated, and the remnants of the natural colors portrayed on the wall are still visible. The devotees of Radha Krishna came from across different parts of the country, and it had arrangements for the stay of the parikrama waasi.
The monument lies in a devastated condition, neglected by the authorities. There are a lot of illegal encroachments seen in some parts of the complex.
