This is the third video in the series and discusses how to make realistic looking gun damage to clothing, by actually shooting clothing with guns. So, forget all the fake tutorials online and check this out! Even if you aren't able to shoot up clothing yourself for whatever reason, I show you a variety of gunshots and what they do to clothing and look like, so you can recreate the effect yourself. This way the damage looks real and not what people "think" it should look like (although some folks may prefer that look, and there's nothing wrong with that).
Understand this is a video series on techniques and not a single project, so please watch the video and then you can mark the sections helpful to you and return to them later. These videos focus on Post-Apocalyptic Larping, however the distressing techniques can be applied to any project you are attempting to distress, whether it be for stage costumes, band costumes, back to school, skate park wear, punk outfits, larping, haunted or scare houses, halloween, fashion, cosplay, costumes, festivals, school play, faires, P.A. events, movies, short films or whatever you'd want to distress an item of clothing for.
Some videos will be simplistic, others not so much, as I said, please pick and choose what you need from each video as I post them. Adventure on!
Future videos in the series will cover dying and fading, adding battle damage, adding textures, distressing vs. destroying, adding flare, and everything else imaginable regarding distressing and post-apocalyptic themes.
*Making and adding armor pieces may appear in small sections of this video series, but armor will be covered in separate videos at a later time. This information is meant to cover the basic costume.
Remember, a project is never done, it's only due. So even after your event happens, continue to work on the project overtime and have it grow/age with you!
If you have anything to add as far as tips or tricks that apply to the video, please comment below and don't forget to like and subscribe and share with your friends.
Best of luck in all projects, this is an easy genre/style because it is very forgiving and you can't really make too many mistakes because chaos is a large element of design, but be careful not to overdo it and make the piece not functional.
