It's a great day here at Regent Sounds, thanks to this stunning instrument. Say hello to this very special guitar: the Ernie Ball Music Man BFR (Ball Family Reserve) James Valentine, limited to a run of only 45 pieces, worldwide. Each guitar is signed by James Valentine himself, and this example is presented in an absolutely gorgeous Target Burst finish, complete with a double-bound ash body.

It does’t get much classier than this! While we all know the production Valentines to be superlatively made guitars, there are so many small details on this that make it a little bit extra special. For example, not only do we have a roasted flame maple neck, but this example also sports an ebony fingerboard, block pearloid inlays, and is double-bound, just like the body.

Electronically, the guitar boasts a pair of Music Man Custom pickups - a humbucker with a push/pull pot-governed coil split, and a staggered pole single-coil in the neck and bridge positions, respectively. Combine this with a second push/pull pot for an active, on-board gain boost, and you have a fully-fledged, sonic powerhouse of an instrument that exudes quality down to the final detail. Hardware-wise the guitar has a Music Man synchronised tremolo, with a set of 6 locking Schaller machineheads.

The guitar was played through a Fender Blues Deluxe, mic'd with an sE V7 dynamic microphone, running in tandem with a Vemuram Jan Ray overdrive pedal, for our driven tones.
