Is the $9.99 Mic better than a $500 Countryman Mic?

Recently the supply chain crisis in the US caused the big, cool expensive headset mic (cough, cough... Countryman) to be difficult to source. Great mic. We like them. Even so, we had to search for other options. So, we tried the nifty $79 option and WOW! Shockingly comparable! BUT... there's that one knock-off thing for $9 on B&H Photo and we just had to see...
WHAT THE HECK!?!?!

This little, cheap mic is shockingly good! In fact, it's a far far far better option for a bunch of applications (largely where abuse will hurt mics and we don't want to cry over having damaged a Countryman Headset Mic.
What do pro's use? The mic that fits the situation. It's not about brand, it's about getting the whole job done and WHOLE means performance quality AND budget reality. This video is a real, un-equalized audio test of three mics at VERY different price points.
A follow up video is coming where we'll explore the noise floor of each mic (and we suspect you'll agree that the Countryman is expensive largely because of it's prowess in that category).
