What happens when someone decides to build in Bihar instead of leaving it?
👉Meet Chandan Raj, the man behind Suresh Chips, who returned home after years of working in Shanghai, Tel Aviv, Romania, and Bangalore, determined to create jobs and opportunities in his hometown of Muzaffarpur.
But the dream quickly collided with Bihar’s harsh realities like corruption, red tapism, and lack of infrastructure.
From bribery at every level to goons demanding “chanda” (extortion), Chandan’s story exposes what it truly takes to survive as an entrepreneur in Bihar. He invested everything, his time, skills, and savings to prove that innovation could start even in the most neglected corners of India.
Despite challenges, his tweet about the system’s failures went viral prompting the District Magistrate to take action, fix roads, install streetlights, and bring some hope back to the area.
Yet, as Chandan says, “If you want to survive in Bihar, you have to be Rajinikanth and do everything yourself.”
