"The Last Voyage" | SS United States Minecraft Animation

This video serves as a tribute I made for America's most Iconic and Fastest Ocean Liner. SS United States has been afloat for a lot of years now, Its such a sad ending for her to be destined as the world's largest artificial reef. Her last voyage had begun and it will soon finish to her final resting place, May she rest underneath the peaceful waves and be the most stable and intact artificial reef we could have similar to Britannic.

What is the SS United States?
SS United States is a retired ocean liner built during 1950 and 1951 for United States Lines. She is the largest ocean liner constructed entirely in the United States and the fastest ocean liner to cross the Atlantic in either direction, retaining the Blue Riband for the highest average speed since her maiden voyage in 1952, a title she still holds.

The ship is designed by American naval architect William Francis Gibbs, was an iconic ship that transported celebrities between 1952 and 1969. After a financial collapse, she was withdrawn from service and sold multiple times. In 1994, her fittings were sold at auction, and she was towed to Philadelphia.

Since 2009, the 'SS United States Conservancy' has been raising funds to save the ship, which was purchased in 2011 and plans to turn it into a multi-purpose waterfront complex. Donations have allowed the ship to avoid scrapping while berthed in Philadelphia.

In 2024, she was evicted from her pier due to a rent dispute, and Okaloosa County, Florida plans to buy her and sink it as the world's largest artificial reef.
