Ayurveda also observes the five elements inside the human body. We nourish ourselves with foods on the Earth, and finally, our body returns to the earthly thing where it came. Water is our life-sustaining nectar, which makes up more than 70 percent of our total body mass. Fire provides the body with warmth and radiant energy and is present within all chemical and metabolic activities. Air flows freely throughout the body, giving movement to biological functions and feeding each cell with oxygen. Space is ever-present, humbly living in the background, providing the other components with a chance to interact this way.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, the Water element encompasses over the material we call Water. Additionally, it embodies the physical attributes, biological functions, and energetic properties of the element. For instance, Water is liquid, thick, tender, and more cohesive. It governs all bodily fluids and is essential for chemical reactions to occur in nature. On the subtler levels of the mind and emotions, Water relates to a calm character and promotes compassion, love, and contentment.
