We inherited a rectangular pool with the property and it had one waterlily with speckled leaves and meh flower. I soon added more from Texas Waterlilies and now they are spreading out of their pots and some even float as the rhizomes get larger. Fortunately the ones that have floating rhizomes seem to sink back into the water when it gets cold so the rhizomes don’t die. There are goldfish as well which my wife really likes. We keep raccoons and herons away with two cameras and motion sensitive water sprayers. Much better than trapping and relocating them and more effective too.
