Anne Robinson reads and replies sarcastically to viewers' letters to the Beeb on Wednesday, 2nd December, 1987. Note the rescheduling of Neighbours in a bid to reduce school truancy, some praise for Lenny Henry, the complaints of sexism in Brush Strokes [EDIT: I've had to remove that clip - sorry], and Francesca Gonshaw being sorely missed from 'Allo 'Allo but not exactly welcomed to Howards' Way.
Speaking of prostitutes (sort of), if the name Cynthia Payne doesn't mean anything to you, she was a convicted brothel madam whose 'special parties' were frequented by lords, MPs, vicars, and probably any number of sorts we didn't find out about. Big news at the time.
Grateful thanks to Ben for providing this recording.
