This “Cavatina" was composed in 1950 by the great Polish pianist and composer Alexandre Tansman and dedicated to the legendary guitarist Andrés Segovia. It was originally a four-movement suite, but later, at Maestro Segovia’s request, an additional movement called “Danza Pomposa” was added. “Cavatina” was one of Segovia’s favorite works—he performed it often, not only in recordings but also in his concerts. It is a very lyrical and beautiful masterpiece for guitar, loved and played by many guitarists around the world.
Performed by Masayuki Takagi.
Guitar built by José Marín Plazuelo (Granada-2025 / No. 1016).
