A WYE-WYE bank must always be firmly tied to the system’s neutral; if not; excessive voltages may develop on the secondary side. This voltage, known sometimes as a third harmonic voltage, can exist between the primary neutral and the system neutral and ground. This excessive voltage can be hazardous to a Lineman. In this short video, we will show the effects when a neutral is floated on a WYE-WYE bank.
