One of the best tips I've ever learned is how to overcome camera shake by using the right shutter speed. It's a simple trick that I use EVERYDAY to take sharper pictures.
The concept is simple. Make sure the shutter speed is equal to or higher than the focal length of the lens. To put it simply, if you zoom your lens to 200mm, make sure the shutter speed is set to 1/200 or higher.
9 times out of 10, this will ensure you end up with a sharp photo. The only variable is if the subject is moving rapidly. If so, you'll need to increase the shutter speed to freeze fast movement.
In this episode, I'll show you how to setup your camera using this technique and illustrate the effectiveness of the reciprocal rule to get sharper images.
