La historia de dos hermanas separadas al nacer y enfrentadas años después por el amor de un hombre. Leandra, es una joven campesina que se enamora del hijo de sus patrones, como fruto de ese amor, nacen dos niñas gemelas. Para que no les arrebaten a sus hijas, los jóvenes planean huir. En la huida a Leandra le arrebatan una de sus hijas pudiendo huir sólo con la otra. Años mas tarde, Clara Riveu (la hija que Leandra ha criado) es una mujer refinada y con clase, mientras que Isabella (la niña que le arrebataron) es una muchacha dulce y sensible. Ninguna sabe de la existencia de la otra pero el destino se encargará de unirlas para enfrentarlas por el amor de un sólo hombre, Fernando de Alvear.

Povestea a două surori separate la naștere și confruntate ani mai târziu pentru dragostea unui bărbat.
