Residents of Munambam had long feared losing their land due to provisions in the earlier Waqf Act. With the new amendments passed by the central government, those worries have been laid to rest. The movement was supported by Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and received a major boost when Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju attended a public gathering called ‘Nandi Modi’ in Munambam.

A team of 15 representatives, including community leaders and the local vicar, will now meet the Prime Minister in person—an inspiring moment that highlights how citizen concerns can lead to real policy change.
