Laser cutting is an incredibly fast prototyping technique used for cutting sheet materials into high-precision parts. These parts can then be combined into three-dimensional assemblies, but learning how to prepare those assemblies in CAD in advance can follow a steep learning curve.
In this Jacobs Makerspace Tutorial, Jacobs Hall Student Supervisor Effie Jia illustrates how to model a tabbed box in Rhino, and then cut the resulting profiles on one of our Universal Laser Cutters. Familiar with Rhino but unsure how to use it to begin generating parts? Follow along and get laser cutting today!
