Kaleidoscopic Appearances in this Art Exhibition: "Infinite Metamorphosis" by Dis Berlin.

Dis Berlin (Ciria, Soria, Spain, 1959) has dedicated his life to painting since his first exhibition in 1982. Self-taught, his training has been nurtured by admiration for the great masters, from Pompeian painting to the classics of the 20th century, as well as literature, cinema, and music, inseparable companions in his daily life.

While he is best known for his #figurative #work, he has cyclically returned to #abstraction in both painting and sculpture. With his image archive as the basic pillar of his imaginary, other branches of his work include #photomontage and #collage. Part of this work traveled through the Instituto Cervantes venues in different countries. In addition, the catalog "Eva" was presented by Pedro Almodóvar, with whom he has collaborated on many of his films such as Kika, Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!, Pain and Glory, and the recent The Room Next Door, among others.

Behind the #kaleidoscopic #appearance of his work are central themes and obsessions: woman, sky, desire, Wonderland, his "Cantos" on the basic concepts of Homo Sapiens, metaphysics, Paradise, the incessant #metamorphosis of forms,... Among 1 the nearly one hundred solo exhibitions, some stand out, such as: the first ones at the Buades Gallery in Madrid during the eighties; "The Immobile Traveler" (Museum of Teruel, 1991); the retrospective "The Kingdom of Metamorphosis" (IVAM and Conde Duque Cultural Center, 1998); the one curated by Juan Manuel Bonet and titled "The Imaginary Museum of Dis Berlin" (Bancaja Foundation, Valencia, 1999); "Kaleidoscope" (Museum of the University of Alicante, Almería Art Museum Center, Teruel Museum, and Unicaja Foundation of Málaga, 2001); "Homo Sapiens" (CEART of Fuenlabrada, 2016); his solo shows at the Guillermo de Osma Gallery in Madrid from 1999 to the present; and also "Labyrinth of Solitudes," held at Sala Parés (Barcelona, 2023).
