Installing the Chevy 350 V-8 engine in my 1956 Chevy Tri Five project car will be an exciting step forward. I'll be using all brand-new parts and also some used hardware, which were generously sent in by a viewer. Getting the engine aligned and mounted correctly will require careful attention to make sure everything fits just right. The viewer supplied hardware & the new parts should make the job smoother. Once the engine is in place, there will still be a few critical checks to make.

One of the main concerns after installation will be ensuring the oil pan clears the steering linkage. This is a common issue with these engine swaps, as a truck oil pan might interfere with the steering components. I'll need to carefully check the clearance, knowing that if the oil pan doesn't fit properly, I’ll have to replace it with a properly fitting passenger car oil pan to avoid any future problems. Depending on how tight the fit is, a custom or modified oil pan might be necessary.
