Latent Lemon Hurts - the Harmonic Percolator sound

Hi folks, today we'll have a closer look at the ‪@latentlemon‬ Hurts, a pedal based on the famous Harmonic Percolator. To be more precise, the pedal in this video is the 1000 Hurts, which is a previous version of the Hurts pedal produced by Latent Lemon nowadays. Compared to the current Hurts, the 1000 Hurts is missing the SPUTTER knob, which is a Bias control, and the DEEP switch, which allows more low frequencies into the circuit. Although the 1000 Hurts lacks some extra features in terms of controls, it is more similar to the Interfax Harmonic Percolator used by Steve Albini.

This said, the Harmonic Percolator is one of the most mysterious pedals on the planet; if you take 20 of them, you'll get 20 different sounds. On top of that, the "Albini-sound" is one of the most elaborate guitar sounds in recent history; you'll never get that sound just by using a pedal, and probably no one will ever get that sound besides Steve Albini.

This video is not intended to show you the "Albini-sound". The only purpose of this video is to play a good reproduction of the original Harmonic Percolator and try to get what we think is a cool sound out of it. Simple as that.
