The "RR" stand for "rerecording". It can just be "rr", too.
This Mupen64-rr emulator is the Nintendo 64 equivalent to the following:
Gens: Sega Genesis/Megadrive rerecording emulator
Snes9X: Super Nintendo Entertainment System/SNES rerecording emulator
FCEUX: Nintendo Entertainment System/NES rerecording emulator
PSXjin: Playstation/PS1 rerecording emulator
Visual Boy Advance-rr/VBA-rr : Game Boy Advance/GBA rerecording emulator
Final Burn Alpha: Arcade rerecording emulator
These emulators, as well as the one I used in this video, are capable of creating TAS videos: Tool-Assisted Speedrun videos.
I'm just testing out the controls of this game that I had to map to a keyboard. I'm also seeing how this video will look on Youtube. After compressing the AVI file with "Xvid MPEG-4 Codec", and then render it with "Internet 4:3 30p SD" through Sony Vegas.
Everything up to viewing this video turned out okay, but it looks like this video is very slightly out of sync with its sound.
Since I already own a Dazzle to record Virtual Console N64 games, consider this my alternate option towards those games. I even have Super Mario 64 on the VC.
This Mupen emulator will help me in recording games that will never be on the VC, such as Banjo-Kazooie. I also have more control over going through the games that are already on VC, such as both 3D Zeldas, F-Zero X, and Super Mario 64, among others.
