The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Abu Dhabi successfully hosted the 80th Indonesian Independence Day Diplomatic Reception at the Gold Ballroom, Abu Dhabi Country Club, attended by more than 300 guests, including 52 Ambassadors, 37 diplomats, UAE government officials, CEOs, academics, and community leaders.
✨ The event was officially opened with the presence of H.E. Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy & Infrastructure, who attended as Guest of Honor and Special Envoy of the UAE President to Indonesia.
🎤 In his remarks, Ambassador Husin Bagis emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Indonesia and the UAE, covering trade, investment, renewable energy, and education. This reception also marked his final diplomatic reception after serving 10 years as Ambassador in the UAE.
🌸 The evening was further enlivened with:
Nusantara Dances: traditional performances from Riau, West Java, and East Kalimantan, including a mass Tabola Bale & Pacu Jalur dance.
Collaborative Pencak Silat: featuring UAE athlete Mariam Rashed Almansoori alongside the Indonesian diaspora.
Culinary Diplomacy: showcasing Indonesian specialties such as Sate Madura, Rendang, Soto Banjar, Nasi Kuning, Bakso, and Indonesian coffee.
Gamelan Ensemble & Traditional Attire: bringing together the harmony of arts, music, and cultural diversity on the diplomatic stage.
🤝 In his remarks, H.E. Suhail Al Mazrouei expressed appreciation for Ambassador Husin Bagis’ contributions and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to further enhance investment and cooperation with Indonesia in the future.
