"Bayan Ko" is a patriotic Kundiman song, often considered the unofficial second national anthem of the Philippines. It was originally written in Spanish by General José Alejandrino and translated into Tagalog by poet José Corazón de Jesús in 1929, with the music by Constancio de Guzmán. The song has been used as a protest anthem throughout Philippine history, notably against the Marcos regime, and became widely known through a popular 1978 recording by Freddie Aguilar.
