I decided to find the final resting place of George Harbo here in New York at Green-Wood Cemetery where he was buried on April 7th 1908.
George together with his friend Frank Samuelsen became the first people ever to row across an ocean. After reading the book "Daring the Sea" by David W. Shaw, I learned what they both had to undertake and immediately gained my respect and admiration. Living in New York it was a "no-brainer" to at least try and see. I must thank Christina from the Green-Wood Genealogy Team for providing me with the Grave number, Public lot number and Page from the Chart of Markers for single graves, without which it would be impossible to come even close to locating. Green-Wood is very large with over 570,000 interments.
