TEXAS DRIVE: Turnertown to Henderson on

Ride with us in East Texas as we leave Turnertown and head toward Henderson, Texas on Texas State Highway 64 East, which is a two-lane road with passing lanes. We are in #EastTexas so there a lots of pine trees to be seen on the overcast spring day. We will pass through Joinerville, which was one of the richest acres of land during the oil boom in the 1930’s. There are still some oil field services businesses in the area and the highway widens here for the school and post office. We will pass by quite a few churches, barns, and houses along the way plus a rest stop. As we drive into Henderson on Highway 64, we will pass by Henderson High School, the Civic Center, and St. Jude’s Catholic Church. Henderson is the county seat of Rusk County with a population of about 13,000 residents.
