In a quiet New England college town, a young woman finds herself crushed between two absolutes. After a tragic automobile accident leaves a man dead, Lorna Kittredge is urged by her fiancé to lie—to soften the facts and save their future together. But her father, a respected professor of ethics, insists she must tell the whole truth, without compromise or consideration.
