Hiking Galicia's Lighthouse Way: O Camiño Dos Faros (Stages 5 & 6) Arou to Camariñas and Muxía

Stages 5 and 6 from Arou to Camariñas and then Muxía pass through the most rugged section of the Costa da Morte. We walk through the rocks of Praia de Santa Mariña and Praia do Trece, gaze at the staggering views of Faro Vilán, continue to the Ermita da Virxe do Monte, A Ponte do Porto, and Cereixo, stroll along Praia do Lago, and finally end at the Santuario da Virxe da Barca in Muxía.

The Camiño Dos Faros is a 200 kilometer (124 mile) hiking trail that hugs the coastline of Galicia's Costa da Morte (the Coast of Death). This rugged trail passes 8 historical lighthouses, isolated white sand beaches, and seaside cliffs.

We walked the 200 km route in 8 days.

We started our walk on June 24, 2025 in Malpica, Galicia, Spain. We arrived in Fisterra (Cabo de Finisterre) on July 1, 2025.

This is not an officially recognized route by the Galician Government. It is not "homologated", so the signage and trail can sometimes be unmaintained. Please hike at your own risk.
